Archery Deer Hunts

     We offer quality archery hunts for mule deer during the month of September.  We hunt on several hundred thousand acres of private leases which involves more than 15 different ranches.   We experience 100% shooting most years.  We average 20" - 24" 4X4 buck deer.  Some of our hunters do get deer up to 28" - 30", but these are exceptional trophies.

     Mule deer are hunted primarily by spotting and stalking.  You'll be hunting with excellent knowledgeable guides who know the land and the game well.  There is no rifle hunting on any of our leases while we are archery hunting.

     While deer hunting, you can expect shots ranging from 10 to 45 yards with the average being 25-30 yards.  I can't emphasize enough the necessity of practicing shots from all positions - kneeling, sitting and standing and from all angles - uphill, downhill, and on the level.  Practice quick shots and shots at moving targets, especially for deer.  At our lodge, we have a 45-yard archery range for your use.  The more practiced you are, the better your chances of success.

     The hunts also include, at no extra charge, fishing, upland game birds and varmint hunting for prairie dogs and coyotes.

     We utilize 4-wheel drive vehicles to and from the hunting areas with either one-on-one or one guide/two hunter service.

     We recommend using a 60-pound minimum bow weight with 125 grain broadheads.  Camouflage should be brown and gray patterns.  Bow slings and range finders are also highly recommended.

     Hunts take place any time in September -- we'll conform to your schedule the best we can.  Mule deer hunts are 5-day trips.
